Rains seem to be on their way back. There are short showers, but the sky is mostly gloomy. The turn in temperature can be felt, and it's on the incline again.
CHARACTER OF THE MONTH
Heavy clouds linger over the valley and the tension is as thick as the promise of rain. The rogues have attacked again and this time, they stayed around. RC is now under control of NPC rogues. Check the lands out at your own risk.
Magnus hadn't made any moves to overtake a territory nor wreak savagery upon the lions of Valoria. A strange occurrence to Svea, whom assumed the male would have wanted to provide for his family immediately. More disturbing, Grexus had seemingly vanished into thin air. Perplexed, the rose lioness had skirted across the savanna toward the treeline. At least beneath the boughs of the trees there would be some relief from the sun.
She wondered if she'd been abandoned here, if that had been Magnus's plan all along. A pretty bauble, certainly, but males were always testy when they didn't get what they wanted all the time. A soft smirk found itself on her lips as she had managed to find herself beneath the trees, with the shade alleviating the heat stored within the mauve dorsal that lay across her back. Beneath the shadows she could regroup herself, plan on what to do next.
Teal eyes scoped the immediate area but found it empty. Suitable for the lioness whom had lost both husband and son early on. While some concern rooted within her mind, it was more for the cubs than Magnus himself. She had seen the Viking lion take down powerful individuals. Now that he was in a strange land perhaps he was seeking out information, weighing the options since they had merely just arrived.
the sky was clear and cloudless, which wasn't always a good thing. the heat had set in early in the day and it seemed that the afternoon was unable to shake it. delicately the woman descends from the ridge, snaking her way through the valley on a whim. she is in search of nothing in particular but her feet don't seem to know that. being idle does her little good, and even if her journey ends quietly, at least it is something to do. her lips quirk, wry, at the thought; a few weeks ago, she could not imagine having this much free time.
but then, there was a lot she couldn't imagine.
pulled from her quickly-souring thoughts, she is made aware of another soul - a lioness, resting beneath the shade provided by the trees here. they stand in a line, a protective shield - and the coolness of the shade beckons her. a quiet, delicate chuff rumbles from her throat as ashelia nears - ears cupped forward as a polite smile turns her lips. "good afternoon, miss," ashelia calls once she's close enough, sunlight eyes focused on the woman. up close like this, ashelia can see the rosy-pink pelt that @Svea wears - a cherry blossom against all the beige. "enjoying the sunshine?" her tone is soft, albeit questioning - there is nothing but peace and solitude here and if her company was unwelcomed, she would happily move on.
Quiet pervaded the savanna more than she had thought could be prevalent in a land. Perhaps the sun baked those enough here that they became lax in daily activity. Even the pallid nature of her pelt couldn't keep Svea from the exhaustion that came with constant heat. Beneath the speckled shade of the branches above she felt some relief, more thankful for a tree than she had ever felt before.
Before long a chuff breaks through mundane turn of minutes, followed by a delicate voice. Svea's teal eyes peer upwards, spotting the pretty sand colored female before she had drawn too close. "enjoying the sunshine?" Soft rose head tilted as she considered the other lioness, admiring the pale gold points on the other's flesh. She quite enjoyed the aesthetic of @Ashelia, though she refrained from voicing such aloud. "I'm quite tired of the sun," she smiled warmly as she welcomed the other's presence into her company. A strange scent wafted from the other female, perhaps a token of some pride's musk, though she hadn't learned of any prides within Valoria just yet. "I've just been waiting for my husband to return, but it seems he's lost his way." For a minute the smile widened as her huskier voice rode the air as her eyes had rolled simultaneously in her skull. Slow, she had stood so as not to seem threatening to the other lioness.
her company, at least, is not immediately ushered away. ashelia takes that as a good sign, letting her tail tuft gently wave back and fourth at her heels. sunlight eyes watch as the cherry-shaded woman stands, ears tipping forward, friendly. there is no threat quivering in svea's motions and so ashelia takes no offense as the woman draws herself to her full height. now that they're both standing it's easier to see that they're similar sizes, albeit different builds. still, svea is easy on the eyes - and her voice, when she speaks, is welcomed similarly. a light laugh rumbles from the depths of ashelia's chest - surprised, even herself, by the easy mirth that svea's words bring. "it's been my experience that men are often tardy," she rumbles, a sly smile quirking at the corner of her lips. as if this was a secret meant only for @Svea's ears. "but hopefully, he will not keep you waiting much longer." she adds, demurely. it's a simple wish, and certainly a polite one; no one should keep this woman waiting - husband or not. her ears knock forward them, offering the woman a kind smile, as she speaks again. "would you care for a stroll while we wait?" there's a quick pause, then ashe adds: "we can keep to the shade, if you wish." ashelia was happy to walk in the sunlight to spare her companion.
